The Pheasant Philosopher’s Christmas Diaries: The eternal quest for the best Hot Chocolate!

One of the annual traditions in our household is putting up the Christmas decorations on the first weekend in December – this is accompanied by lots of steaming hot chocolate and, of course, homemade gingerbread biscuits. I fully admit that I am a bit of a Hot Chocolate perfectionist. So often, when I order the…

Sweet William’s for Sunday. These were my Grandfather’s favourite flower. They last so well and add a lovely splash of colour to the room. Something to make me smile every time I see them. I always think it’s important to choose British grown seasonal flowers - and they are such good value too! Hello to the weekend 👋- our little terrace is looking so colourful at the moment and I’m off for a little bit of retail therapy. Hope you’re all enjoying the fine weather, while it lasts… A beautiful, but damp, walk this morning - the air was fresh and the hedgerows green. The old roses in the garden are looking exceptionally splendid at the moment - they’re loving the warmish, dry days and cool damp nights. The vibrancy of this pink is quite something. Just spotted this little fella on my evening walk….and remembered it was #worldbeeday - we are very blessed here to have plenty of vibrant flowers for the 🐝, there are hundreds of them about the garden. 🐝 are such an important part of our eco-system, where would we 🐝 without 🐝s? My son is honey obsessed, we currently have at least 10 varieties from all over the world…all thanks to these little guys! Discovered the most delightful new shop in Ross-on-Wye today. All the clothing in @thewalkerandwalker is made on site, from lovely natural fabrics and if you find a design you like, you can have it made in any size, from a selection of colours, within 14 days. They also stock beautiful leather and fabric bags, slippers & candles etc. Certainly worth a visit if you’re in the area. Another amazing morning walk - the colours and sunshine were quite delightful! A bouquet from the hedgerow, which is at its most beautiful at the moment, another week or two and it’ll all be cut down by the large council machines 😞 - such a beautiful evening for a walk. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CdXvQElISEH/
